On Feb 16th and 17th, Salmo Secondary School hosted the first annual “Custom Dozing Classic.” With eight teams attending from Revelstoke to Cranbrook, the community and school saw an action packed two days and 17 games.

The SD8 Youth Explore Trades Sampler program is an academy style program designed to provide students in grades 10-12 with an opportunity to sample various trades prior to graduation as part of the Trades Training Program pathway.

School District No. 8 (Kootenay Lake) announced the election by acclamation of a new chair and vice-chair of the Board of Education at the inaugural board meeting held in Nelson, B.C., on November 14. School Trustee Dawn Lang was elected uncontested as the new chair, moving into the role after serving one year as vice-chair.
